I like Google News because of the really flipsidey perspectives a typically insulated American like me encounters in news stories from other lands. I take amusement -- and a ray of hope, if you don't mind -- from this Gulf Daily News story.

Basically, some Kuwaiti business leaders are saying, "Wait a minute; what if Iraq's reconstruction goes exceedingly well and suddenly we have a large, resource-rich, free-capitalist state appearing out of nowhere to complete with us? Gah!!" I reckon if they think it's worth worrying about, then it stands a good chance of actually happening.
