I have finally surrendered my iBook to the Apple Store, so I've got to live without it for 5-7 days. Part of me questions how necessary this was (the DVD drive still worked, after all, at least so long as it was taped shut, and the power key wasn't always mashed down, and I had gotten used to not being able to open the screen up all the way...) but I think I'll be happier for the fixes, in the long run. (Which is to say, 5-7 days from now.)
Until then, I'm stuck using the house firewall machine (a BSD box with a simple text console) for everything. Tomorrow I'll see if I can feasibly work at my old ORA desk for the next week or so. Not having a Mac OS X machine at all around is a bummer, though, given what I'm writing about. Eh.
