I thought I'd point out that somafm.com is sending a CD of ambient music to anyone who makes a >=$25.00 donation to them.

If you're like me and rarely pass a day without letting one of their fine MP3-broadcast channels fill your broadband pipe for a few hours, this is a pretty good deal.

I think I'm doing all right when I finish another chapter draft (putting two more to bed this past week, and more or less sticking to my idea of a schedule for this month) and set a new personal record on Galaga. 109,360 points, stage 17. Woo

My currently biggest gut-gnaw is the fact that I'm still broke, more than a week after I last thought to complain about it here, when I noted I had a nice number in my receivables column, but nothing in the bank. I pinged appropriate people about it before the weekend, and they ponged back, but not with anything so solid as a check's-in-the-mail. I failed to talk my mom out of sending me another hundred dollars today, so I could buy some decent shoes for Peter's wedding next weekend. I feel really disgusted by the whole situation. At least I'm apparently not letting it discourage me from my work.

How's the job hunt going? Two Tuesdays from now (bleh) I have a lengthy interview scheduled at Harvard Medical School, for a technical position at a new pharmacology (a.k.a. cellular genetics) facility. This lab wishes to create a public database with a Web front-end that will allow biochemists to store and retrieve information about reactions between proteins and certain kinds of molecular tools; in so doing, it will help us sly little humans to reverse-engineer this here human genome map that's come onto the scene lately.

Boy, I'd love to work on that.

Wow.
