To my disappointment, I have learned that Harvard's Extension School offers its Intro to [Organic] Chemistry I course only during the fall semester. Blargh. Stupid Book. In theory, I could jump right into II and play catch-up, but the same theory dictates I could take a graduate-level course and play catch-up, so fooey on theory.

Chemistry or no, I think I'd like to take a course anyway, since I get a fat employee discount with anything Harvard teaches, and I have a little more time now. Of the available choices, I have to admit that intro to fiction looks tempting. Part of me, though, says that I can't write good fiction no matter how many courses simply because I doubt I have the mental muscles necessary to create characters. I'm also made a little wary by some local friends' description of their own recent experiments with creative writing courses. At least one found the atmosphere to be hostile towards anything approaching SF. My encountering this would be... a shame.

Still. Hm hm hm. We'll see.
