Yipes

Car inspection failed, but it's not what you think: apparently I've been driving around an unregistered car for the last, ehm, 13 months? or so. Or rather a car in the limbo state of having shiny-new registration stickers n all, which were based on a shadow and a false promise, as the commonwealth thinks that Toyota still owns my car, but Toyota would rather you thought otherwise. Oopsie daisy

Once again proving that all paperwork that involves jmac shall tend toward maximal fustercluckery. Yes indeed, a busy NYE for me. Off I go.

Update: Wow, after poking around on the massrmv website, I learn that this is going to cost me hundreds of dollars, and probably at least two trips to the RMV registration desk in Chinatown (fully expect to be told today that I am missing forms A, B, and C, though I've through some miracle managed to find the title & bill of sale (they were under my bed)) and an unknown amount of time spent paper-chasing. I love my car, but I hate cars.
