Ha ha

Roger Ebert just said "Jedis".

As I called it, they said it's the best one since "Empire" cuz complexity == quality.

The Volity list has gotten all jeepers-creepers active with several game hackers (one an alphageek in the field) all joining this past week. I hope we can maintain this level of active discussion and interest through next month when I start treating Volity as the job I'd eventually like it to become, for me. Good stuff.

I spent hours cleaning the apt today, but I think I managed only to go from SLOBCON-2 to 3. I hope to try pushing it back another step tomorrow. (I do not think I can ever hope to attain SLOBCON-5, not by myself.)

My unwitting inspiration is [livejournal.com profile] jordanwillow. She is my new model bachelor.

I'll have a better idea once I have some studio experience under my belt, but I'm starting to think that the Gameshelf game segments might be better filmed outside of the studio. I want to just film games for however long they took to play (whittling them down later in iMovie), and that's not really an option when working with a volunteer crew that expects (very reasonably!) a strict schedule.

I note that if I borrow a DV cam from SCAT, that gives me two camcorders to work with, in the location of my choice. This can be a good thing. My first thought about applying them involves just having both run continuously, maybe one on a tripod and one in someone's hand. But then this doubles the amount of footage I'd find myself facing in the editing room. Is that too much? I have no idea yet!!
