One day I'm going to unzip my fly and find a Starbucks there.
I normally don't have a problem with chain stores; in fact, that makes me downright paleoconservative among certain segments of the local population. But the problem with Starbucks is that they're worse than the Borg--at least the Borg assimilate diversity and add it to their own. In the Bay Area, Starbucks bought out a number of small local chains and then converted them to the national format without keeping any of the old stuff, except the location and the employees.
Not that I actually drink coffee anyway. Coffee nasty. Caffeine bad (unless its contained in chocolate).
Locally, I find that the 24-hour Safeway supermarket (just across the border from Berkeley where business after 10 PM isn't normally allowed) is the place to find the late night hipsters.
