Eh, forget what I was saying about the lack of posts. Maybe I meant that I don't want to post about Volity so much, and since I was just coming down from a three-day weekend full of work on that project, I mistook it for the whole of my reality. No, no it ain't, thank gord; even though I found a good thing in this project, I know I can't spend all my free time on one thing. 'tain't natural.
Concession to doing other things, last night: played a one-player prelude session of cnoocy and rikchik's RPG. (r was out of town, so it was just c GMing.) It's a real-world, present-time, ordinary-human game, which I haven't quite played before, and the GMs are doing a solo prelude session with each player before the game actually starts in the usual group setting. It was actually quite a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to starting the game proper with the other players. (It was also nice to visit Freak House when there wasn't a large crowd present, so I got to see Trolley in mostly-non-freakout mode.)
Also, congratulations, China; Mr. Yang Liweiu is whistling high*high*high o'erhead as I type this. While I had read some columns about how surprisingly open the country was being about its space-flight plans, the government remembered they were info-repressive Communists at the last moment, alas, and so the only images the rest of the world has of the launch are of the smiling astronaut before boarding.
That I'm not sure "astronaut" is the best word to use strikes home the fact that they've come in only two national flavors for longer than I've been alive, and now this. So that's something.
