2 SOLVALOU LEFT

As if that weren't enough, I just blew up the mothership in Xevious for the first time ever. After 20 years of always getting killed by those stupid little black balls. My star is rising, truly.

According to the game's KLOV listing, there are three more. Sob. And the game doubles in difficulty after the first one... I'm calling it done for now.

Stupid black balls trick-- hide in a back corner and keep firing, and even if you miss the big boy, you have the best chance there of hitting/dodging his (*&^*& guided missiles

oo, sorry, wrong enemy. I was thinking of the really big black balls that come one at a time and frag the crap out of you.

For the small black balls, I try to predict mothership arrival and do a quick center bomb at the top of the screen, and pull back as the balls start flying. Sometimes works, and saves having to fight mama + balls.

One thing I learned: those innocuous little non-firing round bases (with the glowing sorta-square on top) are enemy summoners: the more of those bases you kill, the easier time you'll have with flying enemies.
