An example of something I just wrote which would have made no sense at all to me some years ago:

"OTOH it would harm nothing just to KISS and say that the volity.* configs all have showing in disco, which I see is what the Wiki says now, so my past self apparently thinks this is a good idea. OK."

It is true. Every once in a while I try to explain what I'm doing with my summer, but as soon as I get to "disco query," the person I'm talking to either starts laughing or stops believing a word I say.

Hey, here's a question. Did "KISS" originally stand for something obscene? "Keep it simple, stupid" sounds like it came from the same person who claimed "Fouled up beyond all repair". Or who said that the astrological symbol for Mars was a soldier holding a spear up.

According to Wikipedia "Keep It Simple Stupid" is the strong version, with there being a variety of other versions that don't use "stupid" (for instance, "Keep It Simple and Straight-forward.")
