About the pledge stuff

I see a lot of people in my corner of the blogspace reacting with disgust at the present Pledge of Allegiance flap, as if the reaction is wholly a Bad Thing.

I like to think it's the kind of disgust you see when you lift up a rock and see whole nations of white wriggly things. I am actually happy that this is happening, that someone in that judge's position finally tested a boundary that hasn't been touched in 50 years.

The first step in changing boundaries is testing them.
