Curious

I randomly tried tuning into Groove Salad's long-silent URL at work today, and was surprised to hear... Groove Salad. Checked somafm's website, but it's led by the game grim headline that's been there since the RIAA ruling in June. Just tuned in again, and it's still there. The automated voice-synthesis DJ came on just now to say nothing in particular; the station's maintainers use(d) "him" as a voicebox when they have announcements about the station to make, but the rest of the time he just serves as amusing station identificiation, such as now. Wonder what's up. Maybe it's just a one-day act-of-definiance la la. Whatever; it sure sounds purty.

I faxed one my congresscritters a couple of weeks ago about the whole mess, after following links to a website that automatically sends faxes to these folks. I got a snailmail back from one, about as personal as my fax was (though it was hand-signed), stating his support for the Internet Radio Fairness Act, which is good to see. I'd tell you who it was but I am sadly uninformed on the Massachustetts political scene, so the name didn't take. The letter is in my room somewhere but I am too lazy to look for it now. On slack-room plum papasan at the moment, doing some HMS work whilst iTunes sweats away, piping the mysteriously resurrected somafm at me and filling up my iPod with iCricket's iMusic. iCarumba!
