I rediscovered Andy Ihnatko's website today. Andy was one of my favorite tech pundits back during the heyday of my MacZealotry, five years ago. Not sure why his name drifted into my consciousness today, but there you have it. I had forgotten that he was Boston-based. Keen.

Downloaded and started playing Spiderweb Software's Geneforge today, in my continuing quest for a Suitable Toy. Dunno why I hadn't played with it earlier, since the same company's Nethergate was the only CRPG I've played to completion recently, last summer. (Heck, I think the last one I finished before that was "Lunar: The Silver Star" for the Sega CD system in 1993, though I've started many since then. Gave up on Lunar II because the endboss was too much of a PITA. I nearly completed "Suikoden II" for Playstation in 2000, but became completely discouraged with it when it killed off my favorite character as a scripted plot twist. Quit Final Fantasy VII last year only about halfway through when I saw it setting up the same thing, and didn't feel like falling for it. (Hint: if, in a CRPG that lets you build a small party from a larger pool of characters, a particular PC insists that she accompany you for a particular quest, she is so doomed.))

Still plowing through the Cocoa book. Dum de dum.
