Colossal Waste
Apr. 15th, 2002 12:11 amDownloaded and started playing Spiderweb Software's Geneforge today, in my continuing quest for a Suitable Toy. Dunno why I hadn't played with it earlier, since the same company's Nethergate was the only CRPG I've played to completion recently, last summer. (Heck, I think the last one I finished before that was "Lunar: The Silver Star" for the Sega CD system in 1993, though I've started many since then. Gave up on Lunar II because the endboss was too much of a PITA. I nearly completed "Suikoden II" for Playstation in 2000, but became completely discouraged with it when it killed off my favorite character as a scripted plot twist. Quit Final Fantasy VII last year only about halfway through when I saw it setting up the same thing, and didn't feel like falling for it. (Hint: if, in a CRPG that lets you build a small party from a larger pool of characters, a particular PC insists that she accompany you for a particular quest, she is so doomed.))
Still plowing through the Cocoa book. Dum de dum.
