I'm using the laundromat across the street from Minas Morgul for the first time, in preparation for Origins. (This is the first time since I moved that laundry day hasn't coincided with visit-the-family day, tee hee.) In a couple of hours I'll mosey over to cthulhia's, and then she, queue and I will forthwith depart in the Mighty Cthonic Engine. Today's journey will take us to C's hometown of Utica, New York, and an overnight at her mom's house. From there, Columbus, and five days of Looney-centric gaming. After that, it's the same two-legged route back (I think) and then I fall into my new job. Tuesday might be spent mini-golfing, depending on how done I feel with the book. (Evil twin Josh says: So long as our friends to the east can resist the symbolic value of blowing up the city named after America's discoverer on Independence Day, it's all good.)

I plan on getting a lot of writing done, despite all the driving and gaming. The book is supposed to be half done now, and... it almost is, sort of. Yesterday I picked up a ciggy lighter power adapter ($45, from Belkin -- half what I was expecting to pay) to facilitate automotive authorship (at least some of Perl & XML was written in the back seat of Cthulhia's previous car when the three of us went to NYC on a lark last fall) and I don't think it's too outrageous to think I can put in three or four hours a day into writing, in the midst of the Big Experiment. I did it with P&X at Arisia, after all. I actually trust myself, here... I can let myself go, have fun, but when the time comes, I'll start to feel too antsy, and will have to excuse myself for a while. It should be fine.

It'll be nice if there's Internet access, but I'm not expecting it. So, I'll be available mainly through cell phone. If you think you need my cell number, yell at me. Ta-ta.
