Back

I am back from Origins. I had a great time. Full report is in the works.

Very quick summary:
Saw various LTNS folk again, and finally met the Looneys and their Toast Society ilk. Got into the Zendo tournament finals, and had my most profound Zendo moment to date. Played the best game of RAMbots ever (even though I lost). Appreciated the fact that each of my three present Boston Warren companions also made it to exactly one tournament final, all in different Icehouse games. Played in the Thirteenth International Icehouse tournament, and had an... interesting time. Attended highly inspirational game design talks led by Reiner Knizia, Jacob Davenport, and Kory Heath. Got violently ill and then got better. Had more fun than I have ever had before at a con or con-like event.

(no subject)

Gord help me, Origins has made me regress. I'm like a little kid again, wanting to chuck work and instead sit at the kitchen table building RAMbots screens out of construction paper, with hand-drawn cheat sheets and artwork. Little prog carefully using the safety scissors, legs swinging under the chair and tongue sticking out in concentration. Well, not really, but.

PLEEZ

Noah got some beer from Burlington, which is now in our fridge, except for the one in my hand. It's called Hocus Pocus, but the word 'Pocus' is upside-down and in a puffy font, so that for a while I thought I was drinking Hocus Snood. Imagine my disappointment when I took a closer look.

FWIW, it's very good beer, despite the fact I can't immediately rush to declare it the official beer of Mac shareware gamers.
