I will freely admit that a nice feature of the O'Reilly weblog is that a lot of people read it. It seems that whenever I mention a person there, I find myself getting email from that person within a day or two. The Internet is very large. So tonight I got mail from Cliff Johnson, which is pretty neat. Have shot a couple mails back and forth already.

In a strange sort of syncronicity with other recent thoughts of mine, he writes that he was a filmmaker for 20 years before getting involved in computers at all. (This was to explain why he doesn't play many computer games; from his cinematic standpoint, all the examples he's seen fail to tell their stories right, if they have interesting stories to begin with.) (Yes, he describes himself as a film snob. I can respect this.)

I am having a very nice Civ game game, on Regent difficultly, trying for a wholly nice-guy win as the Babylonians. Haven't picked fights with anyone, and have been making frequent and generous trades, while trying to remain on Polite or better terms with all neighbors. Be interesting if I can actually pull a Diplomatic win out of this.

And I am doing absolutely nothing else, argh. Addiction, addiction.

I may wander down to the Diesel just to get some work done. Furrfu.
