Saturday a former O'Reilly sysadmin and his truck of much capacity assisted with hauling all my furniture around. Bought him brunch at Johnny D's, and much merry conversation was had. Meanwhile my parents helped scrub the old place clean, and by the afternoon I had officially Vacated, all keys returned and final bills paid off. Thus ends the book of the Minas Morgul experiment. (But its legacy lives on... much of the furniture here is actually M's, on loan until she moves into a roomier place than her current dwelling, some months down the road. I definitely appreciate the presence of a "starter set" until I can collect furniture of my own.)

Meanwhile, in the Arbitrarium, I mapped out some likely-looking furniture-arrangement choices on my whiteboard, and then stayed up until midnight trying to apply them to the would-be living room. Fell asleep on the futon soon after assembling it. (Sunday morning, I put my bed together.) Welcome home.

Had a pleasant day out this afternoon with [livejournal.com profile] cthulhia and [livejournal.com profile] mycroft. We wanted to see Finding Nemo but all chronologically adjacent showings were sold out by the time we arrived at the theater, alas. Saw The Italian Job instead, a fun but mostly dopey crime flick, which I write more about on the media journal.

Before going out for tasty Indian food at the Namaskaar (where we all had to withstand entreaties from the most amusingly hard-sell waiter I've ever seen), we came to my place for a round of the bean game, and so it came to pass that the Abritrarium had its first houseguests, even in its partially assembled state. (We had to construct a table and unearth some chairs before play could begin.) This went well, even if the kitchen was almost completely empty and my guests had to stave off hunger by splitting a tin of Viennese sausages, one of the oddball victuals that my parents left behind.
