Move ya cahs

Again woken up by the magic voice to dive into some clothes and rescue my car from being swept up in the weekly street cleaning frenzy, because I always park on the wrong side of the street the night before, because I'm dumb.

SO! I get to my car perhaps a minute or less after the magic voice pulls me from bed, only to find that it's aleady been ticketed. ?! What cruel game were they playing? Unless... uh oh. Well, I wanted coffee and it was raining, go just got in anyway and drove to Carberry's. When I got back, I saw: a tow truck, preparing to haul away the car of one of my fellow inattentive streetmates.

A tow truck!! In Somerville!! I don't know why this happened today, when last month my car was ticketed and then left alone. But, I suppose that the towing threats I'd read about in the past were not, after all, just bluster.

So, my fellow Somervudlian motorists: Bewaaaare.

And this Carberry's scone is cold and has dark brown splotches in it that don't taste like rasins which I'm eating anyway because grrrrrrr feed the fire feed the fire.

Ask Dr. LJ: Make me a star. (Maybe.)

Perhaps you've overheard my recent mumbling about wanting to get involved with drama. The stage-and-screen kind, yes, not the day-to-day kind. I guess I just need another outlet for my ego, and I've always been interested in performing, even though it's not something I've formally participated in since high school. (Bye-Bye Birdie, and I had the, uhh, the Dick van Dyke character aced, but then lost it when I had to leave the state for a couple of months due to parental fiat, and had to settle for a choral role instead. Grunt.)

I've recently realized that I do, in fact, know many people involved in this sort of thing, and the people are y'all, or a subsection thereof, anyway. Soooo. I... really don't know the first thing about getting involved in stage productions (and the like) in this, the scary world of grown-ups. If any of you would like to help let your pal jmac vex and besquirm local audiences, I would welcome whatever advice or opportunity-pointers you may have, even if it's only "Here, read this FAQ." (Or, for that matter, "My advice? Don't.") Thanks!
