Yesterday helped the MIT community players out a bit more. Didn't really do much; stood around on stage to act as a light-focusing target, and later learned a little about controlling the lights. (I discovered to my own disappointment that I was very shy and hesitant about scurrying up tall stepladders to actually monkey with the hanging stage lights, even though I was looking forward to trying; the time-pressed crew wisely passed the task onto someone else.)

For whatever reason I felt pretty out of it the whole day, and unfortunately took a nap when I got home. This had me wake up at 10 p.m., leaving me very mentally jangled and useless until I got some real sleep, so I put the time into finishing the latest Harry Potter book. (Opinions forthcoming.)

I have decided Maher's a weenie and don't read his blog anymore; almost every entry reads like a "+5 Funny"-ranked Slashdot comment. (This is not a complement.) What sealed it for me was an entry expressing his shock-shock-I-tell-you upon his reading a news story about new discoveries in the mating behaviors of fish, which led him into a snide little grouse about how untold grant monies are being wasted on scientific research that has nothing (obvious) to do with curing cancer. Ugh. I'd like the tell him that that's exactly how his despised president feels, n watch him dance. Whatever.
