Today, after coffee with the [livejournal.com profile] cthulhia, I mumbled over ICCB stuff for a while, and then cleaned apartment, which included sorting books and games, at least somewhat. Sometime after I moved in I made the amazing discovery that I have recessed bookshelves built in to one wall of the dining room; they were easy to ignore at first because they're behind little glass doors, and are actually not bookshelves, but a place to display fine dishes and glass menageries and your other dining roomish stuff. I don't have anything like that, but I do have more books and games that can fit into my own shelvish furniture, and so as of now the shelves hold all my games, and all my comics. Still a lot of sorting to do, trying to keep a mind to which books to keep out in my "public" rooms, where guests are free to infer their borrowability. (Everything else goes into the hideous metal bookshelf in my bedroom.)

On hideous furniture: punted on the table question by setting up the blue card table in the dining room. I am advised that, with a decent table cloth, it will be OK for the nonce. I still need better chairs than the butt-gnawing aluminum planks I have now, though. I figure that wandering around my neighborhood questing for cheapo, mismatched wooden chairs should prove not too difficult and maybe fun.

Normally I avoid using a parenthetical comment as a topical segue hook, like I did just there. It always strikes me as a scoping issue; the parentheses block off a level of recursion that that the content outside shouldn't have access to (but the stuff inside can refer to whatever it wants to from higher levels). But, as my utter opacity should indicate, I am too sleepy to care right now.

Playing a lot of "Vagrant Story", a fun PS1 dungeon crawl that [livejournal.com profile] rserocki lent me. It's mercilessly addicting, and was up until three with it last night. Managed to keep away from it all day today, but here I am up at three anyway. Sleep schedule's been shifted forward for a while, actually; annoying. This won't do once classes start, dear self. I know, I know...

I am pondering doing a regular movie night, screening films that I have already seen and would like to share with friends. This would differentiate it somewhat from a friend's weekly movie night, which I attend regularly (where she shows both movies she's already seen and movies she's only been told are good). I don't think I could keep up with a weekly schedule, though; [livejournal.com profile] magid suggests monthly, and that seems like a good start. Will not start before September, if at all; we'll see what happens.

The MBTA offers free schedules for PalmOS, finally. Neat. Wish it existed back when I rode the bus every day.
