prog: (galaxians)
First, this amuses me, becuase it takes an agreeable concept like "this board game is great, let's make a computer game out of it", and proceeds to take the task far too literally.

MIGS update: This is the final "MIGS" update, because we have finally settled on a name: Volity. I can say this out loud now because I see that the three obvious domains are now secured in my name -- thanks, [livejournal.com profile] daerr. (Alas that I no longer scruple to abuse the TLDs like this. Ideally, I'd like to follow Jabber's lead by putting user/customer-friendly stuff at .com and hacker stuff at .org, but... well, we'll see.)

I've launched a SourceForge project account for it, and am still in the process of putting it together. Still not planning on blasting out links et al until the proof of concept is complete, though that day draws ever nearer, especially since the server works well enough (on Mac OS X and Linux; yay Perl) to allow parallel development of the remaining major components. (Yes, this entry does contain enough information to let the desperately curious/bored start sniffing through the CVS tree right now if they really wanted to. I am comfortably doubting this.)

DDR update: I finally managed to clear "Deep In You", a moderately chaotic 7-footer that's been hanging me up for a while, due to its containing a particular step structure that heretofore dropped my health meter like a rock every time. (Going through it in slow motion via training mode really helps.) I've been able to comfortably clear all the 6-footers and the less chaotic 7s for a while now.
