Dec. 11th, 2003 04:29 pmBack on track at work, tho' it's a work-from-home day for me. I am really enjoying the music setup I described earlier; yeeaaah. Boss wants to see a demo tomorrow, and a demo he shall have. Also, dig my new work icon; it just now sunk in that I have room for a few more, even though I read about the icon-allowance increase a while ago.
Warm spring rain today. It's speedily melting all the snow, and my car is suddenly almost entirely visible once more. (I haven't touched it since before the weekend that transformed it into a big white lozenge.) I was originally thinkin' I'd T to a friend's house tonight (involving a walk through a few sketchily unlit areas upon arrival) but maybe I'll just drive after all.
Really enjoying Quicksilver, about halfway in. (Yes, I read almost as slowly as I write, don't I.) The most baroque details of all the hydratic political intrigues are often lost on me, so complex are they, but everything else is great fun; I may be enjoying it even more than Cryptonomicon. (The supernatural overtones fade quickly once the story begins; they're invested wholly in a single character, who launches the plot, then recedes into the background. But I still keep thinking of Tim Powers because of all the shared settings and characters. (i.e. the ones from actual history, but which seem like Tim Powers properties to me, because I am hopeless.))
Lunchtime, yum yum.
