Veloce

Found a perfectly legal cache of Veloce MP3s (hidden within a stinky Flash interface). I'm of the impression that they're meant for Web-only listening, but the server isn't configured to stop offsite referral, so... I leave the problem of downloading them as an exercise for the reader. Check out "Regardless" first, probably.

Veloce is what Perfume Tree became after that band went away in 1999, and Perfume Tree made some of my very favorite CDs. Sublime ethereal electronica with very nice female vocals. I would like to purchase the album these tracks are from, but all the purchase links lead to a nonexistent website, and it's not on eBay, which doesn't bode well for its general availability. Googled message-board chatter about the band's present fate reveals nothing that isn't obvious.

I note with discomfort that all the files' last-touched dates fall within the first week of September, 2001. I wonder if their label went bust before the month ended.
