Conspiracy Theory du jour: Karl de Bergerac?

Chatter on dKos has provided more reasonable suggestions for the bulge, including:

• a protrusion from an armor vest or back brace


• a comm device that the Secret Service uses for legitimate emergency communication with the prez


• an iPod filled with Norwegian death metal

As with any conspiracy theory, I am inclined not to believe the most paranoid explanaton, despite all the "but but but" evidence. (Remember how the Web was abuzz with rumors that the first poor man to get beheaded this summer was the victim of CIA guys dressed up as terrorists, because the masked guys standing in the background were all too pale or pudgy and their posture was all wrong for Middle Eastern men? That chatter died down when beheadings stopped being such a novelty...)

It's still kind of funny, though.
