So far, family relations have been great. We've been having our political scraps, but doing no harm. The important thing is that my parents, while they have a different worldview than me, still have a sense of humor. So you get this coversation over the breakfast table:

DAD: [Sternly] Did you remember to fill out an absentee ballot before you left?
ME: Yep! Have you?
DAD: You bet...
BOTH: Nader all the way!

This is before the sibs have come on the scene, and more crucially, before Tuesday. But I'm hopeful.

FWIW, the 'rents, despite all the Fox News they watch, are mopingly convinced that Kerry will take this one, speaking in the same tones that friends of mine use when they predict a GWB win. Take this as further comment on the state of the race. (And, on a smaller scale, the fact that Maine has by all signs dropped out of battleground status to turn a lovely shade of robin's-egg blue.)
