I was surprised at the size of the main studio; it's quite large. They encourage members to use it creatively, bringing in whatever props or furniture to turn it into whatever sort of space they'd like. (So long as they clear it all out again when they're done.)
Happy to learn that they not only provide borrowable cameras to members (which I figured I wouldn't necessarily need, given the little number I scored offa Craig's List in November) but also things like three-point lighting kits and a variety of microphones. I had started excitedly buying a random assortment of lights and mics late last year before I decided that I didn't know what the hell I was doing and should just stop, so this is good.
Probably I should start actually watching channel 3 to see what other people are doing. The station's official policy is not caring what you do in terms of theme, style or content, so long as you (or your org) live in Somerville, and don't break any laws or obscenity regulations.
Also I am proud to be a member of any organization that names itself after poo.
