May. 6th, 2005 11:05 pmI had an hours-long window today to finally make my announcement (with everyone who needed to hear it actually being personally present), so I took it. Starting June 1 (actually, starting the week of May 30) I will cut back my hours at ICCB to part-time, working three full days a week for the institute and then the rest of the week on Volity. (Since deciding that I'd do this, a month ago, I've been sinking the entirety of my weekends into Volity, as I will for the next three weeks. I'm glad I'll be able to decompress this!) Boss is v. supportive of this move. Tsall good.
I think that my ICCB days will be M-W, but I forgot to make a point of it today... oops. I don't foresee any denial here, but I'll make sure after the weekend. I'm keeping three days coz 2.5 days is the minimum to retain benefits, but I don't want to twiddle with half-days. Beyond giving me more time for Volity and related projects (what? what? ssh) it will let me strictly partition by week: those three days I will only work for ICCB, and outside of them I will refuse to. (Barring firefighting duties and the like, of course.) I know myself well enough to predict that this will work just fine.
