Gameshelf Update
Oct. 2nd, 2005 01:41 pmSo this month's The Gameshelf will get done but it's gonna be late; where I should have immediately scheduled the October episode's shoots after completing the September footage, I instead took a break and didn't think about it for a while, and this had a cascading effect. I shot the games last week and I'll be lucky if my crew can make it for the host-segment shoot next Saturday -- the director is generously going out on a limb for it, since weekends are hard to fit into his schedule.
Question for all those who have showed interest in helping with the upcoming episode about wargames, which will include Gnostica: are all weekdays right out, even if I announce them well in advance? Weekends may be better for game-playing in general, but it's generally easier to nab studio time on weekday evenings. (It's easiest of all to get it on weekday afternoons, but.) (The other games I mentioned in the previous casting call are all shot and going into the one I'm making now, about space games.)
I am considering a policy of shooting games the first Wednesday evening of every month at the SCAT studio, with an additional "spill-over" shoot the following Saturday at my house (or somewhere else that's not the studio). This latter is for shooting video games and other stuff that doesn't really need active direction to look good; I'd rather keep the board gaming to Wednesday.
