An Animal Crossing experiment
Jan. 22nd, 2006 06:45 pmSo I've been playing Animal Crossing: Wild World (a.k.a. Animal Crossing DS) for a day. I didn't know what to expect with it, and am a little surprised to see how similar it is to Harvest Moon, which I played my fill of last year. So, not exactly my ideal digital game, but it's fun enough. The thought of having to run around watering digital plants makes me wilt (there's a reason that The Sims lets you hire a gardener!) but I enjoy the treasure-hunt-driven story as much as anyone.
It's also rather well-written; I've laughed out loud at a lot of the animals' utterances and mannerisms, and some of the bizarre plot elements. And I really like how the emotive symbol for greed appears to involve flowers spraying out of the character's body.
According to the instruction book, people can't visit your town unless you mutually share each others' friends codes. Therefore, I don't see any reason to hide mine; it's at the end of this post. The experiment I'd like to try is staying logged in (i.e. keeping my town gate open) while I work at my Mac this evening. Feel free to drop by, and reply to this post (or email me) with your code info if I don't know it already.
My little guy might be asleep in his house when you come by; I dunno if the game has any sort of alert mechanism to tell you when people show up. Feel free to poke me via IM if I appear too drowsy.
My information:
Code: 0086-5380-5490
Name: jmac!! (Include the !!s.)
Town: Checher
Fruit: Pears. Feel free to grab some. I haven't seen any other fruit yet and would appreciate a donation.
Happy Yay Day!
