RSS Everywhere

I took a break from the commerce stuff to do something I've been wanting for a while: RSS feeds for as many Volity Network features as I could think of. You can see the whole list here. (I need to think of a better link to that page.) There are wee orange feed links scattered around the volity.net website now, and if you're using an RSS-savvy browser some pages with obvious feed associations, such as the forums, will trigger the browser's "Hey, there's some RSS to be had!" thingy, placing a little symbol in the location bar or whatnot.

I hope that by publicizing this we can get more use out of underutilized features, like the game scheduler.

Speaking of publicizing, we're finally going to take advantage of that "Do you mind if we occasionally email you stuff?" checkbox on the account preferences page and email you some stuff, unless you've said that you don't want it. Just a little newsletter. Zarf wrote it many weeks ago, actually, but I've been sitting on it because I messed up some database defaults that would have sent it to more people than actually wanted it. We're trying to do the right thing, over here...

The payment system continues to crawl forward. Most of our infrastructure is set up, and now I'm working on the intricacies of actually taking money from people using external systems. Presently I'm looking at the Google Checkout API. More news as it happens to happen.
