Guess who won the Zarcana tournament

Embarrassingly I dunno who the (other) redhead is in these shots. Will edit this once I do. The medallion has a wonderful original drawing (by Petra and Alison) of the Fool, which you can kinda see here; will post more art or links or something later, when not so hectic (still is middle of con and I'm late in rejoining it today; whole morning at Volity crap, arrgh).

As I said to [livejournal.com profile] zyxwvut later that evening, I feel as if I have bounced back into Looney fandom once again. "So this means Icehouse Tournament tomorrow!" he exclaimed. "No," I said.

The tournament had only eight entrants, so there were only two-games played, with the #1 and #2 from the first round advancing to the second and final round. I won the first one pretty handily, but the second one was rough. I took this picture at the start so I'd be able to get commiseration about my lousy starting position.

Note that there's only one cup on the starting board, which green quickly dominated... and I was yellow, on the Wheel of Fortune. Things were not looking good for all non-green players.

After one deck go-through, blue (who was Zarf), though clever play, built up a strong position and declared the final round, even though I had minions on a face-down card and therefore might have more points than he. I thought that I didn't have enough, and so used the Hanged Man to detonate the enemy-minion-breached Wheel, just for kicks. Nobody else could do much of anything, and we all celebrated Zarf's victory. Then we recounted the points for the official tally, and, uh... I actually did have enough points after all, to everyone's surprise. (My mystery territory was The World, which put me well over the top. Math is hard.) I felt kind of bad about that. But not too bad.

Congratulations! Did you mock [livejournal.com profile] ts52 for not winning after all that talk about training all year?

Also, was there a RAMbots tournament?

Ha ha ha. I probably will mock him now.

There was a RAMbots tournament and I think I slept through it like I did Zendo. Zzzzz....

In my defense, I was talking about training to run the tournament, so that I'd be well rehearsed on the rules and such, not training to play the tournament... :)

Congrats on the well deserved win [livejournal.com profile] prog!!

Rambots

I played in the Rambots tourney... it was fun, but I lost. Can't remember who won.

wow! first off, this game is really pretty to look at. but then again, i am easily distracted by shiny and/or colorful objects.

secondly, congratulations on your win!

thirdly. i am honored by such an esteemed win, even though nothing in these pictures is related to the RCMP or canada. i forgive you.

Oh, and the other red head's name is Maria. I'm afraid I have no idea what her last name is...

Maria Galloway.
