Today's Doonesbury makes my eyes well up a little.

I wonder if he'll stretch this out all week or if it's a one-day hat-tip at the start of a "normal" Duke-centered week (I am betting on the latter).

I don't think it'll be a one-shot. Duke is HST, so I wager the flashbacks will last all week, with some sort of payoff on Sunday. (Though the lead time for the Sunday "Funnies" is pretty long, I think, so that may not come true.)

Lead times can be long, but when there's something special (and you've got clout) you can yank strips before they get distributed to substitute a new set, which I assume he did. But, as the maker of one of the most timliest strips around, he may have a very short lead time after all.

I get the feeling it will be a week long thing, which a surprising ending. Like maybe Duke coming back stateside. Too bad Duke can't die since he already has once.
