Clocky

Meet Clocky, an alarm clock that runs and hides from you, skittering around on cute little wheels. The idea is that, if you're like me and can shut off alarm clocks, even ones in other rooms, without actually waking up, then having to actively search for the clanging little fucker is a good way to come to full, rage-fueled consciousness every morning.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] queue for the link. I hope it becomes a buyable thing! Even though I hate it already!

Perhaps you should get a sleep tracker watch.

Gee, rereading this, I have trouble wrapping my mind around prog chasing the thing across the floor saying "come here ya little fucker... " :)

You can instead imagine me holding it up like Rutger Hauer in Blade Runner and saying I WANT MORE SLEEP, FUCKER!

This is the most foulmouthed LJ thread ever.

wow... that would be something.

I have actually injured alarm clocks before. I frequently turn them off in my sleep. Or sleep through them entirely.

What has been working for me the last few months is my cell phone -- with 3 alarms set, about 20 minutes apart... all with diferent ring tones. Then I leave the phone on maximum stun placed downstairs.. so I can hear it in bed, and I really have to get up and walk a ways.....

I usually get to the second alarm/snooze cycle before I wake up enough to go deal with it.

Can you program it to play music, instead of clanging?

'cause, sophomore year of college, my roommate insisted on setting her CD player/alarm clock to wake us up with NewAge harp/windchime crap every morning. Having such a thing smart enough to hide in my room would be a great way to start my day off with a refreshing cup o'homicidal rage.

That's hilarious! And sounds like something my sister could use. Although she's been known to just flat out _ignore_ alarms, so this might not work, either.

Maybe your sister just needs a bed partner who will wake her up.

I heard about it on NPR yesterday morning, and thought of you. :-)

This thing reminds me a little of Domo-Kun
