Highline Rashomon is a new Michael Barrish site relating four friends' conflicting accounts of what exactly happened on the day they decided to explore an abandoned NYC train route. Good stuff.
A fascinating read, but...assuming the basic story is true and did indeed happen, if they weren't a bunch of forty-ish white hipsters (terms taken from the accounts themselves) they really would've ended up in jail or a Homeland Security lockup. If it had ended worse (much worse), some of them could even be up for a Darwin award. Planning, anyone?
I was a little alarmed at the riskiness myself, and would have passed it off as hooey except that I've met Michael and have been reading him long enough to know that it's at worst only partially hooey, by way of the truth with extra drama mixed in to make it a better read. (He does this. But hell, so do I, sometimes.)

Astute observation, anyway.
