I can't decide if "All politics is local" is easier or harder to say when one lives as I do in EvoGayBortionachusetts the state that sits at the seat of The People's Republic of Awesome, and you watch it exert as much representational power as it can over the rest of the country, but it isn't enough, and all your friends get bummed out.

Perhaps you should take another crack at this journal post after you've had some more coffee?

I think you're expressing your dismay that the federal representives of Massachusetts, despite their best efforts, aren't able to rally more support in Congress for a progressive agenda.

If that's the case, I say: don't be so glum. The pendulum of politics never stops and, I suspect, it's swing back to the center again.

it is sort of annoying having a Senator that I now need to go beat upside the head with a 2x4...
