One reason I don't care for new stories about people selling out to the Devil in exchange for great talent is that, if this were truly an option, then it would stand to reason that a high percentage, perhaps almost all, of the world's great and lasting works of art, music, literature and architecture were constructed under infernal inspiration. Hell, maybe great feats of global scientific and political advancement, too.

And it's long overdue for someone to write a story about that.
