Been feeling kicked in the face lately. It's been a very full several days and many things occur that cruise in the lugubrious currents beneath the placid surface of public posts' purple prose. Yes yes indeedy.

Today sketched some Volity.net commerce code but it's dead boring and really hard to do alone in the office (Z is out of town). I've hit some snags anyway and can't really continue until I can talk to my comrades again.

Maybe tomorrow I'll work on some different stuff. Volity.net hasn't had any publicly obvious upgrades since the forums went up. People are still playing games and working on new ones (I sent the known developers pings, and they generally pinged back) but other than that the system's been in stasis. There is, thanks to some cool tools that [livejournal.com profile] daerr made a while back, a lot of cool stuff I can do given a solid day's work that would have an immediate gee-whiz factor for Volity's users... I suspect that it would be good for both me and the project to pause the commercial hoodoo and make some short-term fun stuff.

Watching movies queued up on the TiVo now. I am still working through the excellent Granada Television Sherlock Holmes series, and up now is The Hound of the Baskervilles. I haven't actually read many of the originals so they always have something to surprise me. Delightful!

After this I intend to finally watch Napoleon Dynamite, which my friends unanimously summarize as "Eh... it's worth watching once". Sign me up

Edit Only got half an hour into it before the A/V drop-outs became too much to bear. I recorded it in July, while the cable box was dying. I was enjoying it, too. Nuts.

I started to work on another Arcade monologue. It's not pulling me along like the last one did but it will do. When I'm finished producing this one. I will make some adjustments to the first one (adding the [livejournal.com profile] cthulhia-voiced postscript and boosting the sound level) and then put all three on YouTube.

I have eaten two small calzones and two sides of fries in two days. Alex Pizza has good fries.
