NNE Wii

OK, so it's been more'n a coupla weeks now: what's the best way to get a Wii in Boston-or-points-north before Xmas?

Edit Wow. I was hoping for responses like "Oh, yes, just go to Crazy Joe's Smoke Shop in Wigwam, New Hampshire, they have plenty." I am not willing to do any work for this outside of travel. Eh.

From the rumor mill...

1. Wake up early AM
2. Call electronic stores. Ask them if they have any in stock. Reserve if they do.
3. Repeat 1 next day.

Since building a time machine is out of the question, I say get one off Craig's List. The sooner the better since I assume prices will only get worse as Christmas nears.

Otherwise GameStop did say they'd be getting shipments. I wonder if it really would pay off get there early every day just in case?

At least two GameStop/EBgames I've checked have said they won't be getting any more Wiis until January or February.

Ugh that stinks. Then I wonder if checking places other than gaming stores would work better? MicroCenter recently cut their books section down to almost nothing to make room for a gaming section. When I was there last weekend they were hawking Xboxes and had games for all platforms.

Speaking of MicroCenter... I went to them when I gave up on finding a Wii anytime in the next couple months. Got a 360 with $100 rebate, which made it only $50 more than the Wii.

I figure that'll tide me over, and I was planning on getting one anyway.

I heard that Toys'R'Uses are supposed to be getting shipments for this saturday morning, but in no way do I trust that information. I also hear that Walmarts have been selling out of their shipments before the store even opens in the mornings, so let's just say I hope you rolled well on your Luck stat.

The Internet claims that both Target and Best Buy will have them on Sunday, for what it's worth. How many and how long before they sell out are different questions.

Looks like you may want to camp a Best Buy this weekend.

But not the Cambridgeside one. That one's kinda underwater.
