Anonymous readers

Been seeing an increase in anonymous comments on my LJ lately. I know I have some small amount of google juice goin' on here but really I don't know who beyond my flist reads this thing.

The only anon poster I had for awhile was 'batman4050', a friendly acquaintance from Gameshelf-related circles. But people have been leaving topical but anonymous comments on old threads, and then someone anonymously questioned my getting emotional at a cartoon, so I'm starting to wonder who-all some of you are - if I actually do have random non-LJ readers and not just people who fly in on Google searches. Feel free to comment. (Also feel free to pick up a free LJ account or use OpenID or something; I'm far more likely to respond to your comments that way.)

I dunno, that DiningIn comment looks more like someone with a grudge googled "DiningIn" and now is leaving nasty comments everywhere they can. Probably not personal to you, and they'll probably never be back.

The Ratatouille one, on the other hand, looks real.

Yah, that's my observation too. I assume that most anon comments I get are one-off Google swing-ins. And I sometimes get one-off posts from LJ users via the same mechanism, though LJ culture often prompts them to explicitly mention this.

I find anonymous comments interesting enough that I've left them enabled myself. It is worth it just for the classic comment, "David and Megan suck at life and are gross". It does seem that anonymous commenters like to post... disproportionately contentious comments.

Are you serious? Over a movie that people all over are also raving about? Oy. Life's too short, and anonymous snipers are a cowardly lot. I say no to anonymous posting.

(BTW love the Quagsire icon! He's one of my favorite Pokémon.)

i agree about anonymous posting. i am all about lurking, but if you are going to comment on someone's journal, especially one that invites a response, put your name on it. generally speaking.

(BTW love the Quagsire icon! He's one of my favorite Pokémon.)

i like the one that's big and fat and sleeps a lot. his name escapes me because i count on my friend's son to remember for me.

Haha, actually the one about me sucking at life was a long time ago when I was being a bit mushy. HOWEVER, I stand by [livejournal.com profile] prog's evaluation of Ratatouille, the message of "follow your dreams" totally hit home and I'm not ashamed to admit I got a bit watery-eyed myself.

Quagsire is the BEST Pokémon! Since Quagsire evolves from Wooper, mine is named Supa Woopa. He's the cornerstone of my party.

Plus Water Absorb is a great ability ... he's part Ground so even though Electric attacks should devastate Water types they have no effect ... he learns Earthquake without a TM and ... wait, what were we talkin' about?

Oh right. Anonymous comments. Ptooey!

(and if you ever wanna do some DS Pokétrading drop me a line)

one more thing about anon comments and I'l shut up (this time Pokémon-free)

I found this by accident on a Google search. I think I was looking for hints on the
ending for System's Twilight and Zarf was one of the terms in my search string.
As a fellow Bostonian and avid tabletop/board gamer, I added it to my LJ
freinds list on a lark.
