Holy cow. This is one street up from me, apparently half an hour ago.

For my remote friends: We just had a zero-to-60 thunderstorm featuring horizontal rain and pea-sized hail, sweeping right in from a fine blue day. And it isn't the first time it's happened this week, either.

Somehow I missed the hail. Maybe I just couldn't see it behind the dense mist of rain.

You sure you're not in Wisconsin or Iowa? That's what most of the state looked like a couple weeks ago.

Or rather, it all eventually gets into the storm drains, which aren't built to handle high-volume torrents of this sort. (Or so runs my best understanding.)

Wow, this makes me really glad I rescued kitties instead of going to CVS to get my drugs like I was supposed to...I would of driven...well hopefully not INTO it, but would...not of been able to drive?

I ran out and got a few hailstones to show to the little Kahuna Meatball. I was actually happy it hailed so he could see it, because we'd talked about how hail formed....
