next time

you know, professional mover fees may sound like a lot of money at first, but compared to the loss of income incurred from not being able to work for an entire week while you box up and then transport an entire five years of your life? It may actually be a pretty good deal.

Next time.

(this is also to say nothing about all the actual money-costs you pay anyway, like the moving van parking permit I an now waiting in line to pay for a second time. Because I packed the first permit I bought. Because I am not a professional mover.)

As long as you're moving in-town, what you probably want are semi-pro movers: that is, instead of a Moving Company that'll box up everything you own and shlep it for mere tens of thousands of dollars, go with someone like Wicked Smart Movers. You do the packing, and rent and drive the moving truck; and they'll do all of the carrying in and out. We loved 'em.
