you know, professional mover fees may sound like a lot of money at first, but compared to the loss of income incurred from not being able to work for an entire week while you box up and then transport an entire five years of your life? It may actually be a pretty good deal.
Next time.
(this is also to say nothing about all the actual money-costs you pay anyway, like the moving van parking permit I an now waiting in line to pay for a second time. Because I packed the first permit I bought. Because I am not a professional mover.)

And, if you have them get the permits, there's a mark-up of more than 200%.
The cost of using professional movers, plus a day's worth of hiring a professional organizer (which wasn't all that necessary, but it was helpful, and she needed the money more than I do) ultimately cost me more than I typically make in 2 weeks.
Somehow, the pro movers took longer than friends helping. I haven't figured that part out yet.
