Planbeast cards

Nifty new Planbeast feature: Personalized Planbeast cards, little images saying what you're gonna do next on XBL, with links going to the event's detail page:

Join Jmac dot org and others at Planbeast.com, the free scheduling service for Xbox Live games.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] daerr for gadflying me into doing this prior to my starting to post on alien forums to spread the Planbeast gospel. (Yes, guess what's going to go in my signatures, there.)

Haha, and of course I just noticed that the time zone setting on them appears to be screwed up. Still digging. Update: Fixed.

Thanks!

I have a feeling after six months of laying groundwork, we are now just starting to do some really fun, highly visible stuff... this is once again starting to feel like Volity did three years ago, just way smaller and more manageable. And hence more possible.

If I had an xbox, I'd use it!

But I just has the PS2 and the WoW accounts. And the WoW thing doesn't translate as well to this kind of coordination, I think, because of the whole levels and realms thing.

Apropos to the game and your musical tastes (I hope) and arts:

That is nifty; thanks! (And with luck I will get through more than 40 percent of the way through the game, someday...)

The card looks good. Do you have enough users to make it go viral?

[identity profile] prog.livejournal.com 2009-03-14 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks. I don't believe you need a minimum to start applying viral concepts.

Great idea.

First thing I tried was iterating through all your user ids. When you hit an unknown one, it spits out an error dump that includes your facebook api key and secret. D'oh!

And your "wlm_password", too, hee hee!

[identity profile] prog.livejournal.com 2009-03-14 03:07 pm (UTC)(link)
HAHAHA, awesome. Nice catch.

It will be fixed as soon as our snail-speed SVN server chooses to acknowledge me.

Done. Looks like our live server's Catalyst setup still had its debug bit on. Oopsie!

Now you get an equally ugly but somewhat less embarrassing generic "We are broken; come back later" message. I will make that go away in this specific case after breakfast. Thanks again for the catch.

hey that's a good idea; nice
