I'm watching cartoons so it is taking me a long time to come with with a reusable ad-type thing. OK, here we are:
I am seeking a roommate or two for my nice big three-bedroom apartment located midway up Highland Avenue in Somerville, less than a 15-minute walk from Davis and Porter squares (and their respective Red Line subway stations). It takes up the entire ground floor of a handsome three-story house. I use the one available parking space, but with an $8 city permit, you can just park on the street. The landlords are local and pretty cool, caring about keeping the place nice without being nosy. They don't allow pets, though; sorry.
Features include hardwood floors, one or two large common rooms (one can become a bedroom if two separate people end up moving in), RCN cable modem, pretty good heat economy in the winter, front and back doors, and a kitchen with groovy orange flower-petal lights straight out of James Lileks' "Interior Desecrators". The living room has an air conditioner. All the common areas are furnished with my own stuff, but you'd need to supply your own bedroom furniture. (Such as a bed.)
As for me, I am a 29-year-old human-type male multiclass information mangler currently employed as a programmer for Harvard Medical School and writer for O'Reilly & Associates. Most of my spare time is spent either working on various strange personal projects or playing obscure tabletop or video games (a large collection of which is on-premises). Ideal housemates would be, like me, fairly quiet and generally subtle, while also good-humored and creative. You should have enough appreciation for cleanliness and order to do the usual chore-type stuff when it's obvious they need doing. I smile upon turn-taking arrangements.
My previous housemates were a couple, and I'd welcome another such package deal, as well as individuals. Rent, if split two ways, comes to $925 per person; three ways, it's about $620. This is before utilities, which we'd figure out as needed. You'd need to cough up a like-sized security deposit, too.
