Watchin' Trek

They should have made Lt. Riker (the demoted clone of Cmdr. Riker created in one of those wonderful transporter goofs) a regular character for at least a few additional episodes, but no more than a season. I haven't seen this episode before.

I just learned from an ad that TNN (which takes a break from rasslin' shows to show ST:TNG for a few hours every day) considers itself a network for men. Now I feel vaguely creepy watching it. whee

I watched that episode tonight too, and also thought it was weird that he was sent off for "four months" (supposedly) but would clearly never show up again.

And clearly I have deviated from my gender assignment by watching the channel at all...

I remember that episode... I'm pretty sure Lt. Riker actually shows up in at least one episode of Deep Space 9. He sorta dropped out of Starfleet and turned into some kind of bad guy... maybe a Maquis.

Yup, DS9

Yup, Lt. Riker made it to a episode of DS9, where he posed as Commander Riker (retina patterns, fingerprint patterns, voice print) and got on board the Defiant and stole it on behalf of the Marquis. Rather an interesting episode.

I don't know. Last night's Trek run reminded me how lame TNG could be. But at least they brought us the concept and idea of the Borg.
