...prairie home companion goes into reruns right after the fund raiser week - the Lutherans go nuts and start offing each other.

The tale is

Last week, poisoned coffe kills one, makes several others sick at a Lutheran Church function in Northern Maine.
This week, they (police) find dead body of parisioner of church - gunshot wound.

They've confirmed the two incidents are linked.
