I used to hang out on IFMud a lot but I don't much any more. (Really, I don't hang out on any MUDs or MUD-like things at all these days, with the tangential exception of AIM.) Sometimes I think of returning to IFMud (and indeed pop in for a few minutes every so often) cuz the people there are so goldurn smart and funny. I want to share with you a paraphrase of something I overheard there a while ago, of which I was just reminded.

Some person: So I was walking down the street, and a woman leaning out of her apartment window, several floors up, calls something to me in Spanish. I said, Excuse me? She said, I said, "You look so tasty, I could eat you up!"
Some other person, pretending to be the first person: When I came to, she was standing over me. Didn't you hear me? I said "Look out for the air conditioner!"
