I'm so physically wiped out that my body is sending "obviously I am ill and need a day or two of convalescence immediately" signals. Unless I actually am sick, which would be bad, seeing as how tomorrow is the real heavy-lifting day; today was Day of Kipple, when I sigh at how much junk I have, and still can't bring myself to part with. It's a fraction of what I owned two years/moves ago, when I threw out all that I could bear to part with at the time, and it's still far too much.

Times like this I wish I was insensitive enough to throw books out. So many books I have that no friend would be interested in borrowing, and would give to library only if I wished to insult them. Here, have a grammar textbook from 1972! And so on.

My idea for not using boxes this year was... misguided. Boxes are good. Unpacking's fine, so long as you actually do it. Chaotic armloads of whatever you can grab and stuff in the car is less good than boxes. I think the sight of boxes in a new home, boxes you can attack one at a time, is prettier than piles and piles of possessions mounded all over the floor. But, yes, you know I had to try it once before coming to this conclusion.

Actually I sort of mean to do some more tonight, bring things a little closer to a state where my former orker can show up in his pickup tomorrow morning, and we can load it up full of stuff and be done with it in a trip or two. Dunno if I can make it, though, between my whiny wimpy body and the further loginess that's settled on me after consuming a huge meal at Out of the Blue. This was in the company of my parents and cthulhia, who all helped today, and accepted enormous amounts of seafood as a reward. This was the first time C had met the 'rents, and they hit it off very well, even if my mom did say that she reminded her of Rush Limbaugh. So that was good.

You know, when you joked about changing out of the cheap felt horns (borrowed from N's left-behind kipple) into your formal evening horns, I forgot that you actually did own a pair, as per photo. har
