progNo calls to MA state police barracks up the coast have panned out. Talked to an interesting variety of mumbly night-shift phone officers who ranged from nice-mumbly to surly-mumbly, and none had any record of relevant incidents.
It is disheartening work; I guess I expected the police to do all this for me once I talked to the right person. I feel like I'm not doing everything I can, but I'm not about to call every barracks in the state, second-guessing all the wrong turns she might have made, or whatever.
Not bothering to call north of MA; the call she apparently tried to make to me was way after she would have entered the state, and I seriously doubt she turned off of 95 before that.
And so to bed, after leaving a note on the door for her to ring the doorbell many many times so as to wake me up. If I wake up otherwise, I will call home about it, which will lead to much panicking and awfulness. But: they have better information, like what kind of car she has and, er, what last name she uses. (I don't know if it's her mom's, or her dad's, or something else entirely. Of course, maybe they don't know either; I'm assuming the topic came up at some point, I suppose.)
