At 7 this evening M popped in, which was unexpected but good, because I needed to take a break to interact with a local for a while. I like living alone, but I guess I also appreciate having former housemates who have a good feel for correct times to randomly wander in through my front door. We talked about work, 'mongst other things, and I finally put into words what's been bothering me about my job lately. Or... for a long time, just realizing it lately. What could that beeee? Later, later... (Meh, knowing me, I probably blogged it weeks ago and just haven't spoken of it to anyone before, therefore making it feel new.)
Observation traded that this neighborhood is suffused with aesthetically pleasing humans (present company included, of course), and it reminded me of how recently I saw an attractive young woman walking down the street talking into her cellphone's hands-free kit, therefore having the appearance of talking into the air. I knew she had a phone even though I could not see her earpiece, as her dress and manner showed she was not a crazy person (and her speaking inflection implied real conversation and not auto-dialogue of the sort that I habitually engage in). Several times between my learning about hands-free cellphones and seeing this woman, I have seen other people on the street talking out loud to no visible target, and come to different conclusions about them, so seeing this other person made me think: hmm, I suppose this is acceptable public behavior now. So yes, I took delight in knowing that attractive young women seem to be my touchstone for sanity. Or the appearance thereof, at least.

over to Hahvid and do a little work early in the morning, before my lengthy commute, so that I'll be raring to continue once I hit the office. This, after all, is how I use the Diesel for all my personal projects; fuel up on coffee and inspiration (the latter coming as much from the cafe's atmosphere as its beverages), create some stubs of ideas, then go home and implement. We'll see how it works.
